What types of power supply are commonly used for electroplating equipment?

Electroplating equipment There are five types of common power supply:

1、 DC generator DC generator belongs to the early electroplating power supply, which has the advantages of stable power supply and large overload capacity. However, it has high energy consumption, low efficiency, high noise, and poor economy. Large electroplating workshops are seldom used, and only temporary small-scale electroplating workshops are used.

2、 Rectifier rectifier is generally composed of casing, rectifier element, transformer, voltage regulating device and cooling equipment. The rectifiers used for electroplating include copper oxide rectifier, smashing rectifier, silicon rectifier and silicon controlled rectifier. Currently, silicon rectifier and silicon controlled rectifier are commonly used. The rectifier is more flexible and light than the DC generator. It is directly installed next to the plating tank to save conductive metal materials. Different circuit structures can be used to obtain different waveforms of DC power supply to meet different types of electroplating requirements. The rectifier has the advantages of high conversion efficiency, convenient adjustment, low noise and no mechanical wear, but it has poor heat resistance, small shock load and low power.

3、 Thyristor power supply Thyristor power supply uses light electronic circuit to adjust the voltage. It is small in size, high in efficiency, easy to control electroplating equipment, reliable in quality, and not easy to burn out.   Manufacturer of electroplating wastewater treatment equipment The difference between the thyristor and the ordinary silicon rectifier tube is that the thyristor has an additional control pole. The thyristor conduction time is controlled by adjusting the voltage of the control pole, and then the output voltage is controlled. There are two main forms of thyristor electroplating power supply in circuit structure:

1. Use the thyristor to adjust the voltage at the primary side of the power frequency transformer, and then use the silicon tube for multi-phase rectification at the secondary side.

2. The thyristor is directly used for voltage regulation and rectification at the secondary side of the power frequency transformer.

At present, the high-frequency switching power supply equipment widely used has many incomparable advantages of thyristor power supply:

① It can improve the efficiency of rectifier equipment;

② Reduce the volume and weight of the whole machine;

③ A large number of copper materials and high-quality silicon steel sheets are saved;

④ With selectable constant voltage, constant current and constant current density control functions;

⑤ It can ensure the accuracy, ripple, efficiency and other indicators within the full output range;

⑥ It is allowed to start and stop with load, and the interference to the power supply network is also small.
